The Blow is a 4 batten compact sail for allround wave use and it works in every kind of wave. It combines the characteristics of a modern, fast responsive sail with a good kick of performance. It starts planning fast and you always have enough drive to grab the next wave. You will never lose control of the sail thanks to the perfectly designed loose leech. With this drive, speed and the excellent range you can use the Blow as well for bump & jump conditions.

FAST RIGGING EASY DOING

F.R.E.D. will help you to fi nd the optimal luff trim for your sail. The mark is found in the upper sail window and serves as an orientation point to create the perfect luff tension (loose leech).

Image

REDUCED BOOM LENGTH

The Reduced Boom Length design shortens the boom length. The handling is much easier and feels more compact. The sail control is signifi cantly improved. A shorter boom is generally stiffer and will assist in maintaining the sail stability and profile.

Image

TOP GUARD

The large reinforcement at the sail top avoids abrasion and wearing out whilst rigging.

Image

VARIO TOP

The top opening is enlarged for an easier mast insertion. The adjustment buckle is placed behind the mast; unnecessary webbing can be stowed in the top opening.

Image

MINI BATTENS

Lightweight mini battens take control of the leech while twisting and avoid detrimental leech fl utter. In this way, the window fabrics are spared and the longevity of the sail is predefined.

Image

BATTEN GUARD

PVC tabs on the upper batten pockets prevent wearing out and abrasion whilst rigging.

Image

INTERNAL TRIM BATTEN

The Internal Trim Batten system is completely integrated into the batten pocket and the battens can stay tensioned in the sail. The profi led end piece offers additional protection against abrasion.

Image

POCKET GUARD

A PVC braid, sewed on the bottom batten pocket, protects your sail from abrasion while uphauling and waterstarting.

Image

OFFSET CLEW

The Wave sails are equipped with 2 clew eyelets which are set asymmetrically for individual tuning.
▲ Upper eyelet for more power
▲ Lower eyelet for more control

Image

BOOM SETTING

The boom length is printed beside the clew.

Image

BOOM POSITION CONTROL

The printed height scale at the boom opening helps you to easily remember your personal boom position.

Image

SLEEVE VOLUMER

The Gun Sails logo that is sewn on the sleeve keeps it open at the boom opening area like a clip and thus mast insertion is much easier.

Image

MAST FOOT PROTECTOR

The large mast foot protector can be pulled back whilst rigging. The loop eases the initial pulling down of the sail. The uphaul can be comfortably inserted through an opening in the protector.

Image

FOOT GUARD

All seams in the significantly stressed foot area are protected by Dacron coverings. A PVC edging from foot to the first batten protects the leech edge against your board’s nonslip coating.

Image

COMFORT PULLEY

The integrated triple pulley has large easy turning stainless brass rolls which greatly reduce the effort required for sail trimming. Also, if you prefer, the rolls are removable to allow the use of standard downhaul pulley hooks.

Image

MESH POCKET

On the inside of the protector you will find a closable mesh pocket which can hold e.g. your downhaul surplus.

Image

STRAP ON

For very easy packing away and storage: Just roll the sail up and fix the elastic retainer.

GREAT STEERING WHILE SURFING

The Blow has the most pronounced depth behind the mast and the largest leech opening at the front, with a compact outline. Built of reinforced monofilm with the mesh spaced wider apart in the window, it has a Dacron mast panel. Two clews, positioned rather low down.

ON THE WATER: Its powerful engine pulls well towards the front and middle of the profile. Better balanced than average, it also seems to be better behaved, with more consistent power thanks to a permanent reserve at the front. It also keeps itself under control, resulting in a very stable board, and has enough inertia to drive through any lulls when planing. Surfing, it pulls hard at the front, with a lot of acceleration and keeps a maximum length of rail in the water, tapping a little more in the chop than when sailing flat. It doesn't have the ultra-responsiveness of the IQ and the Hero or their level of maneuverability in space or their ability to depower instantly. However, the Blow is still good value in surfing sessions with solid support with which to drive the board. It controls itself very well
surfing in side-onshore conditions, and is very easy to steer when sailing by the lee. It has the added bonus of being able to handle a wide range of wind speeds thanks to its excellent control in strong winds. It is a sail that continuously pulls and that is less easily neutralised on long bottom turns, without this being too annoying because it stays balanced.

SUMMARY: In addition to its surfing qualities, the Blow seems to be a relatively good all-round board with which you can have a lot of fun in onshore and Bump & Jump sessions thanks to its sustained power on long sessions. An equally good choice for heavy riders in search of power as for the lighter rider who will appreciate its level of control.

+: All powerful, good balance, waveriding, ongoing support in the surf.
- : Quicker to get physical than the others for light riders.
