The Gun Sails Select Carbon Booms fulfill the highest demands on stiffness, performance and liability. Boom arm bendings, boom diameters and end parts are specifically designed for their individual range of use.
Brand new this summer 2016, we introduce the Select Slim 140-190 cm boom. A 100 % Carbon Wave Boom with a slim tube diameter of 26 mm. This boom offers a lighter feeling, less fatigue and even more comfort for you. No compromise with liability and stability, like all other models from the Select Boom range, we grant you a 12 month warranty.
Size 140 Slim with a 26 mm tube diameter and square tail rear end and loop to loop rope guide for wave and freestyle
Sizes 140 and 160 with 27.5 mm tube diameter and square tail rear end and loop to loop rope guide for wave, freestyle and freeride use.
Sizes 180 and 230 with 29 mm tube diameter with slight V-shape which gets thicker towards the back to solid 34 mm and which holds the new wide square tail rear end with rolls.
Range of use of these sizes are with freerace, slalom and formula sails.
The square shape of the rear end results in less tube bending and improves the stiffness. Thanks to the wider shape in the back area the sail has less contact to the inner boom side which protects the sail and reduces turbulences.
Double pin lock length adjustment every 2 cm

SURF MAGAZIN 01-02 2017 / Select Boom 180-240
600 to 1.600 EUR - this huge price range of carbon booms makes this test very interesting.
We took a closer look - while rigging on the beach, racing on the water and in the surf laboratory:
The outline of the Gun Select Boom is a little bit more narrow, sails with a deep profile may touch the boom earlier.
In spite of a shorter total length the boom convinces with good stiffness datas, the frontend fits to the mast perfectly and reduces the displacement to a minimum when you pull down the boom. All those characteristics lead to a positive test result.
Thanks to the RDM adapter you can use freerace sails with skinny masts.
The vario system and clam cleat look similar to Severne or Aeron - simple, but without any drawbacks, you can use the Select Boom with a conventional trimm as well as with a race trimm set, without limitations.
The minimal higher weight related to the boom length is gladly accepted at the cash desk.
+: Price/performance ratio; fits SDM and RDM masts
