BRONZE FOR FABIAN WOLF AT THE IFCA EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Last week the IFCA Men European Championships took place on Borkum over Corpus Christi. Beside the usual elite of the Multivan Windsurf Cup also one or the other better known name from the PWA competed. Our Gunsails team rider Fabian Wolf was also there. In the Foilslalom eight complete eliminations could be ridden, for the Finn discipline the conditions were unfortunately not enough.

FABIAN WOLF:

"The conditions during the European Championships on Borkum were very challenging due to the current and the offshore/gusty wind. Despite the offshore wind, the slalom course was held directly under land, which is why the winds in the competition area ranged from 10 to 20 knots in gusts. As the IFCA rules stipulate that each competitor may only register one sail in the foiling discipline, I chose the GSF 9.0, which was the perfect choice for these conditions. In the wind holes as well as in the strong gusts I had few problems and could always fight for the top positions. The top10 in this competition were well occupied, so I am happy about this third place, as it is also the first podium for me in an international slalom competition. To lose against Michele Becker (1st place) and Nico Prien (2nd place9) is not a shame at this stage (both top10 in the PWA). Now it's time to continue testing and training before the next competition in St. Peter-Ording at the beginning of July."
